The life and disability plan offers financial protection for you and your family in the case of death or extended illness. Life insurance and disability benefits are provided through AXA. The cost of coverage is shared by you and Intuit. The premiums, paid through paycheck deductions, are calculated as follows:
- Tranche A: 1,50%
- Tranche B & C: 1,88%
Premium rates are calculated based on your individual salary. As per the SYNTEC CBA requirements, Intuit pays at least 50% of the contributions. You will see your portion of the premiums reflected in your first paycheck following enrollment.

How to get started
Life insurance
If you die, life insurance coverage pays a benefit based on your family status and annual salary:
- Single without dependent children: 300% (3x)
- Married without dependent children: 400% (4x)
- Married with one or more dependent children: 475% (4.75x)
- Per additional dependent child: 75%
Disability insurance
Disability coverage is provided in monthly or quarterly payments, up to 80% of your base salary, including Social Security benefits.

Beneficiaries
You must name one or more beneficiaries for your life insurance. If you die while covered by the plan, the beneficiaries you name will receive payment from the plan. You are the beneficiary of disability benefits. Learn how to name or change beneficiaries.
