Enrolling and making changes

New hire enrolment

Welcome to Intuit! As a new hire, you are automatically enrolled in medical, dental, and vision benefits offered through Sun Life. About 10 days after your start date, you’ll receive information from Sun Life with instructions for creating an online account.

Once you create your Sun Life account, you can print a temporary prescription drug card from the Sun Life website. (A hard copy will be mailed to you.) You can also nominate your life insurance beneficiary and enrol in the Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).

Opting out of coverage

If you have private health coverage elsewhere, you can elect to opt out of medical and dental coverage within 31 days of your hire date.

If you opt out, you will not have the opportunity to elect coverage in the future without an evidence of insurability (EOI) form, and coverage at that time is not guaranteed. You will need to make the request in writing to HR Connect and show that you are covered elsewhere at comparable cover under another group plan (such as your spouse’s plan).

Qualifying life event enrolment

A qualifying life event is a major event, like getting married or welcoming a new child, that allows you to make changes to your benefits coverage and edits to your beneficiaries. Learn more about what actions you need to take in the case of certain life events.
